The Track and Field Series is designed for coaches and athletes who are looking for basic yet essential information regarding skill development, technique and training programs to improve performance. Featuring former members of the University of Oregon, Men's Track and Field coaching staff, each program builds fundamental skills for athletes and a solid training program from which an athlete can build. Bill Dellinger was one of the most successful track coaches ever as well as a respected authority on distance running. Among the athletes he coached were Steve Prefontaine, Alberto Salazar, Rudy Chapa and Joaquim Cruz. Dellinger coached athletes earned 40 cross-country All-American certificates and 58 athletes produced 103 All-American performances outdoors. John Gillespie is truly one of the best coaches of all time and one of the best triple jump coaches in the nation. His athletes have won 13 Pacific-10 Conference titles in recent years and broken numerous school records in the high jump, long jump and triple jump.
